Program Description:

  • Kansai Gaidai University is located in the city of Hirakata, midway between Osaka, Japan’s second- largest city, and Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan.
  • Located in the cultural heart of Japan, Kansai Gaidai’s campus provides an excellent starting point from which to begin an exploration of the country.
  • Students on the exchange program attend classes in the Asian Studies Program, the portion of the University designed for international students to help them gain first–hand knowledge of, and exposure to, Japan and East Asia.
  • * Final acceptance is based on host university approval.

  • All students make their own housing arrangements using information provided by the host university. Some students prefer to reserve on-campus housing before departure, whereas others prefer to arrive early, stay in a youth hostel and look for off-campus housing (home stays or shared apartments).
